Is there a connection between My Chemical Romance and the "chemical wedding"?
I'm not a fan of MCR - way too mainstream and poppy for me - but I do like their name. I used to think it was a drug reference but lately I've wondered if it is related to the esoteric concept of a "chemical wedding," originally proposed by Rosicrucians. Anyone familiar with the band know where the name comes from?
Mikey and Gerard Way used to work in a bookstore and they saw a book titled "The Chemical Romance" (??? I'm not sure. I think that's how it goes.) and they liked the name and decided that if they ever had a band, they would name it My Chemical Romance.
I see how you thought the names My Chemical Romance and Chemical Wedding would be related though.
