What happens if you use an incorrect black printer cartridge?
So my Lexmark Printer calls for a Lexmark #3 black ink cartridge, it's proven extremely difficult to find this. I'm just curious what happens if I use a different lexmark black ink cartridge? Will it mess up my printer?
I paid quite a bit for the printer from circuit city before it closed, and it's still a great printer.
It won't work if you put a different number in it. It may look the same but it will be different and could damage your printer.
Try looking on Lexmark's own web site for the number that you want. They sell ink direct I believe.
