how can i portray the the power and pain of love in the novel Cry the Beloved Country in an art collage?
i need to make an art collage for school, and i have no idea how to portray the theme "power and pain of love" in it, any suggestions? i can use my own drawings, newspaper clippings and stuff like that.
So the collage is supposed to portray the power and pain of love in the novel Cry, the Beloved Country. I assume you have read the novel. Maybe scenes from Johannesburg and then rural africa. A silhouette would be cool maybe a man looking down or praying. That could be the pastor and father Stephen Kumalo. Then Stephen Kumalo being up in the mountains as his sons is dieing. The look at rural african life the pain and suffering but Stephan being sad that the love of the country isn't in the hearts of many. The look at those leaving there villages for a better life in the city. The pain Stephen Kumalo feels at losing his son and feeling it could have been avoided and needing to make amends for his sons mistakes. The white land owners love for his son but then not wishing to blame Stephen Kumalo. All these points would fit into the theme you need to bring across. Silhouettes of the men's meeting in the church. The mountains, the city, the slums where Stephen went looking for his son. Love made him go to Johannesburg looking for his son. Love made him stay and take care of his sons affairs. Bring three or four scenes into it. Maybe have black and white or start in black and white bringing across the separateness of the races then at one end of the collage end in color.
